Courageous

Jeff took me out to see the movie Courageous tonight.  It was a great, clean movie.  I highly recommend that if you can, go and support this movie this weekend.  We need to see more Dad's stepping out and having the courage to lead their families well.

Watch the trailer here.

To My Children (Part 2)

Part 1
Even though I feel as though I have nothing left to give you I am not giving up.  God has called me to be a Mom to each one of you and I intend to continue trying and doing my best.

God will provide everything I need to continue on.  If He didn't want me to be your mom He wouldn't have given you to me.

I will continue searching out different methods of teaching and training you and pray that God will use this for all of our benefit and growth.  I will pray for God to give me endurance and that I would be able to exemplify God's love to you as described in I Corinthians 13.

I do love you.

To My Children

You win.  I have nothing left for you.

Over the last couple of months, you've beat me up and wrung me out.
Now you've thrown me in the street for you to continue running over me.

I don't have anything more for you.  I've prayed for you.  I've prayed for me.  I've fought with you.  I've refused to fight with you.  I've tried to help you learn.  I've tried to help you understand.  I've asked God to help you and to give me patience.  I've cried.  I've fought with you, more.  I've cried, more.  I have nothing left to fight for you anymore.

You constantly grumble, complain, fight, argue, scream, get a bad attitude, throw a fit, cry, are constantly asking for more, are impatient, don't wait, are selfish, disobedient, and more.

You expect me to wash your laundry, cook your food, shop for groceries, teach you school, clean the house, play with you, read to you, teach you about life, change your diapers, wash the dishes, pay the bills, take you places, and more.

You've taken so much from me that I can't do the simple things, anymore.

I can't think straight, much less fight for you anymore.  You've taken it all.  I have nothing left.
WHY WON'T YOU LEARN?  WHY DON"T YOU WANT TO CHANGE?

It's not just one of you, everyone is involved (except maybe Clark).

GOD, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?  I'm reading your word.  I'm trying to obey your word.  Why am I so unable to continue in this fight?  Is there something else you want, too?

Part 2

Shooting Stars

Psalm 19:1
"The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork."

Last night Jeff and I sat out in our back yard looking at the stars and talking about the depth of the heavens and how God created everything just perfect so we could live here on earth.  While we were looking at the stars we saw several "shooting stars"  in an hours time.  Two of them flashed right toward us and looked as if someone were taking our picture from space using a camera with a really bright flash.

A Trip to the Seashore

A couple of weekends ago we took a trip down to Galveston.  We wanted to go to the beach because Kent had been learning about the seashore in science in July and August.  We had a nice view of the Gulf of Mexico from our hotel room.  We only ended up spending about an hour and a half on the beach as we decided to go to the Johnson Space Center while we were in the vicinity.  I forgot to take the camera with us to the beach, so I thought I'd show you the pictures the kids drew and what they had to say about it.

Katy's drawing of the beach.

Katy wrote: "The sun and the sky and the sand.  Sand watre.  I didn't like it."

A Doll Blanket

September is National Sewing Month.  I finished making a doll blanket for Kaomi for her birthday this month.

If you've been sewing this month I'd love to hear about your projects.  Leave a comment about what you made.
