An Evening with Lissie

Tonight Jeff took Kent, Katy, Kaomi, and Clark to check in the cars for the CSB race tomorrow.  Lissie and Quinn got to stay home we me.  Lissie was a little dissapointed to not get to go, but she was also excited to stay home and do something special with Mommy.  First, we went for a short walk.  As we were walking Felicity commented on how bright the stars were and then she shouted out, "I see O Lion's belt."  She saw the constellation Orion's belt and was so excited.  It is fun to see the things that she picked up from the older kids study of the constellations in science earlier this year.  When we got home from our walk she got ready for bed and got to choose something to watch from Netflix.  While I fed Quinn she watched "Clifford".  When the tv was off it was almost time for bed, so we snuggled and I read her some library books that she wanted me to read to her.  Then I tucked her into bed and made sure she had enough stuffed animals to keep her company since the older girls weren't there.  I left her with the night light on and she was looking very sleepy.

Suanna's Birthday -2014

On my birthday, Katy and Kaomi made a special place setting for me and Katy gave me some bread for me to have toast.

I picked out a special outfit for Quinn.
Kent oversaw everyone playing with playdoh and cleaned up afterwards, while I talked to my dad on the phone.

Clark made a project for me, because he wasn't allowed to go upstairs.
Kent helped with Quinn.
I read stories to everyone and played Nertz with Kent, Katy, and Kaomi during quiet time.  Then the older kids had quiet time, too.  Jeff came home early from work to surprise me.

Katy found the idea for my octopus cake in a magazine at the doctor's office.  She and Jeff banned me from the kitchen while they assembled it.

We all went for a walk around the neighborhood and Jeff surprised me by taking us all out to dinner at Miguelitos.

When we came home everyone sang "Happy Birthday" and then gave me presents that they had picked out with Jeff at the store and made by themselves.

Here is my octopus cupcake.

They made me feel special all day long.

God's Wonders: Snow and Water

Earlier this month, in less than 7 days we had real snowflakes big enough for Kent to catch with his tongue and hot sunny days warm enough to play outside with water.

Felicity's 4th Birthday

Felicity turned 4 yesterday.
Special Place Setting

Felicity had a pony theme for her 4th birthday.  She had a pony cup and napkin at her place of honor.  She had waffles with blueberry syrup for breakfast.  The kids all worked on a craft where they colored and scene and then added My Little Pony stickers into it.  For lunch we had grilled cheese and root beer.  In the afternoon, Mr. Senseman came over to wish her a happy birthday and brought her a card and some cupcakes.  The kids all gave him birthday pictures and when Jeff came home from work Felicity took a present over to him.  It was his birthday, too.  He turned 80.  Then we went outside to play.  They rode their ponies.
For dinner we had chicken nugets with srawberries and salad.  I made Felicity's plate extra special.
Then Grammy and Riley (the dog) came over.  We sang happy birthday and then she opened her presents.
Happy 4th birthday, Felicity!

Lissie's last present was to follow a trail of glow sticks.  They led her upstairs to the girls room.  When she saw some of her animals in their room she was a little upset, until we explained that she got to move upstairs and this was her new bed.

A Little Dissapointed about Football

The boys were all wearing orange and blue, the girls had orange hair bows and blue in their clothes and Jeff and I were even sporting the Broncos colors for the day yesterday.  The excitement and anticipation was high as the favorite team of a couple people in our family have made it to the super bowl.  Over the last week the kids, including Quinn, had been practicing saying, "Go Broncos."  We even bought a Broncos super bowl balloon at the grocery store, and Quinn was afraid of it.  We enjoyed getting together with some of Jeff's family for a party with plenty of orange and blue food.  While we were disappointed at their loss last night, we will hope for another good year for favorite football teams next season.
