A Blast at the Zoo!
I took the kids to the Zoo today! We had so much fun watching the animals and enjoying the beautiful weather. I took some individual pictures of the kids for end of the year shots, too. I'll be working on those and post them another time, but here are a few random pictures from today.

Visit to Nannie's
The weekend before Thanksgiving we went to visit Nannie, Jeff's Grandmother. She loves getting to see the kids. It was a nice day so Jeff was able to do a little yard work for her and the kids had a blast finding pine cones.
Nannie gave all the kids a special ice cream treat for snack in the afternoon.

Week Before Christmas
Christmas lights reflecting on the wall made neat patterns. We made a Gingerbread playhouse with a washing machine box and we made our own paper candies to glue on it.
Clark got into the Christmas presents early. Thanks Pa and MiMi for the new outfits.
We let the kids watch a Christmas movie and sleep in the living room with the Christmas tree.

Nativity Memories
When I was a girl, I remember playing with a nativity set similar to the one on the right. I spent time arranging Mary, Joseph, Jesus, the shepherds and animals, and the wisemen. I remember play acting the Christmas Story every year and making the wisemen travel and not arrive to see Jesus until after Christmas. I have enjoyed watching and listening to my children play with their nativity set this year like the one below. I think having a hands on nativity for little children is key to helping them learn and remember the story of my Savior's birth. Plus the memories they are making adds to the joy of Christmas.
Do you have any special Christmas Nativity memories?
